I bought the same exact toy from marshalls' (home good) store, got it for 14.99 and i have to say that i didnt like how the toy transforms, my 3yrs old son is crazy fan for transformers so i hoped this will atleast last for a week, it only last for a day and everything started to fall apart. im not sure if its supposed to be like, easily falling aparts. but yeah, you can find this at marshalls' goods for a great price compare here.

"A good facsimile and more durable than expected" 2009-10-26
By A. Freedman (Bethesda, MD USA)
I bought this for my five year old son. I was concerned that it was too complicated and too fragile but he had his little heart set on getting Optimus Prime and the only other model costs twice as much. Well both concerns turned out unfounded. After a little bit of initial help, Jack was soon converting it from robot to truck and back without any help - it really wasn't that complicated but kudos on the overall sophistication of the toy for the price. In terms of durability, well parts do tend to fall off - particularly the smoke stacks, the feet and these red flaps on the arms. But fortunately they snap right back on and seem none the worse. It seems that the toy was designed to give on pre set snap joints rather than breaking - kudos again for the design folks. I don't want to overstate the quality - I am sure it will break in time, almost all toys do, but it survived the first week with a whole lot of play and my son is very happy spending a lot of time with opimus prime.

By Jones Spirius (NY USA)
Ravage is just plain awesome!!! What a toy! His cat mode is both G1 accurate yet it has that scary viscous side that the new movie line figures are known for. He is honestly my favorite deluxe of the "Revenge of the Fallen" line and currently sits on my display shelf with his buddy Generation one Soundwave.

obviously not educational, but definitely a must buy, he looks great and i love the colors, even though his eye is purple when it should be orange, i love him all the way, no real complaints with the toys performance, but i would have loved a Reedman mini-figure ( razor-thin side-kick to Ravage) Very movie accurate!

 "Soundwave's Kitty.....Movie version" 2009-06-30
By N. Richko (the death star)
As all Transformers G1 fans know..when Soundwave needs some recon work to be done..he usually calls on Ravage.

Now with Transformers: Revenge of the fallen, we get to see Michael bay's take on Everybodys favorite Decepticon Kitty. its a interesting look ...it has that alien quality that the films are going for, but with the G1 series Influence.

Hasbro/takara's version is spot on to the movie version. Ravage has snapping jaws (love those!) pretty good poseability, and has his trademark hip mounted weapons. the tail is poseable to a degree also.

his re-entry mode is interesting, but for me the alien panther/jaguar mode is the tops .

if you have purchased the movie Soundwave...you should pick up his counterpart..ravage.

Pros..

its ravage!

Movie accurate detail.

Cons...

Ravage has that one eye...why not give him 2 eyes to match him up more to his g1 days? this is just a minor thing, because it works on screen.

i would have liked them to have him growl (cmon its ravage after all) but that would have probably made him more expensive i guess.

over all The Movie version of ravage figure is a great buy.

hes sort of hard to find..i was on my lunch hour and went to wal-mart where they were stocking the shelves..and i got the last one..i found out that some cases dont even have him...if you see this bad little kitty..pounce on him!

GRRRRR GRRRRR GRRRR

 "Pretty Cool Toy!" 2010-02-06
By Loveguitar (Georgia, USA)
I think I like this toy more than my daughter does! It's kind of small only standing about 8" high when fully unfolded but actually I like it that size because it's easier to handle. The plastic it's made out of seems durable enough and when it is fully folded back into a car it stays solid without wanting to come apart. I like the challenge of unfolding it and then folding it back without looking at the directions (which are not very good anyway). I thought I had it back into the car shape but when I showed it to my 7 year old daughter she took it and instantly fixed a few spots where I still had loose parts! And when it's fully unfolded it makes a great robot!

I think this is a fun toy and helps kids develop their fine motor skills as well as learning how parts can go together. Plus, it's BUMBLEBEE and what kid wouldn't want him? (Or "her" since most bees are females).

"Excellent Transformer - May take adult to help child understand how to transform the first few times" 2010-01-02
By Tech and Rec Man (Salt Lake City, UT)
This transformer is well constructed, and fun to assemble and disassemble. I bought it for my son as a Christmas present, and he loves playing with it. As others have commented, it is made of a durable plastic (almost feels like metal), and is very detailed. The first time we transformed it, it took a bit of practice, but after doing it a few times, it got quite a bit easier. For the price, it is an excellent toy and I believe my son (who is 5 right now) will enjoy it for the next 4-5 years.

"To be a kid again!" 2009-08-31
By Adam S. Roades (Centreville, VA USA)
Back when I was a kid, I LOVED my collection of Transformers. Truth be told, many of them are probably still squirreled away somewhere in my mom's basement (she has a problem getting rid of stuff...). After seeing the first movie, I was determined to start collecting the new series. Unfortunately, with four kids of my own, a rather hefty pricetag on the new models, and mediocre reviews on them, I thought twice. But when I saw this one when I was walking through my local discount store the other day (and for slightly less than it's being sold here), I just had to have it.

While the new models aren't the heavy duty diet cast metal I remember from childhood, this Bumblebee seems to be rather solidly built (and, let's face it, those older models were probably covered in lead-based paint!). I like how the two modes have snap-in parts to keep the robot in robot mode and the car in car mode without them falling apart. I'll admit, I had to look at the instructions to get the transformation complete, but I still got in on the first try.

While this won't be subjected to the rigors of daily play, I'm very happy with it. The detail on both modes is impressive and the robot looks very much like the one in the movie. Autobots... let's roll!

 "Transformers Fun" 2009-09-26
By trinigal (Trinidad & Tobago)
Bought this for our son, 12 yrs., a transformers fan. He loves a challenge which he found in this item. At first it frustrated him as he encountered some difficulty, but he took a break then he persevered and now tranforms it with ease. He enjoys playing with it as well. Transformers has good educational value because it helps to develop one's motor skills, helps them to think and resolve a task and to have patience as it was not easy to transform at first.

"One of my new favorite movie figures" 2009-09-10
By B. Hall
I'd been interested in the Sideswipe figure since seeing him in a department store for the first time a couple of months ago, but I recently found my old G1 figures packed away at my parent's house and those had temporarily taken my attention away from buying any of the new ROTF figures. I finally purchased Sideswipe when I found him on sale a couple of days ago, and he is now one of my favorite figures from either of the two live-action Transformers movies.

First of all, the sculpt of this figure is excellent, both in vehicle mode and in robot mode. Although he doesn't look much like the Sideswipe I grew up with, I wouldn't change this figure's appearance in any way. He is very sleek looking in robot mode, and just has a great design, all the way from his head sculpt to the legs and arms. The blades in his arms look great, and have a very cool way of moving from front to back.

As others have said, there are some fairly large seams in vehicle mode, but when transformed correctly, this is still an excellent looking vehicle mode. It takes just the right "snap" here and there to get the arms and feet back into place for vehicle mode, but when done correctly, it's a solid looking Corvette concept car.

One negative that I've found with Sideswipe is that the chest does not actually "click" into place with the torso when he's transformed into robot mode (at least with my figure). While the chest does rest over the peg at the top of the torso, it pops up very easily. I've watched a few online video reviews of Sideswipe and I've noticed the same issue in those reviews, and as another reviewer mentioned here on Amazon, you can see this in the picture at the top of the product page.

Finally, the transformation is very good. It's not as good as the transformation for the ROTF Movie Leader Optimus Prime or Ultimate Bumblebee, but it is one of the better transformations of all of the movie figures I own, especially in the deluxe class line.

If it weren't for the big seams in vehicle mode and the chest/torso issue I mentioned above, I would give this figure 5 stars. Those are minor flaws compared to the excellent design and fun of this figure, so I would highly recommend buying it if you're considering adding it to your collection.

"Does not transform well or stand" 2010-01-06

By Jennyloupru (Ann Arbor, MI USA)
I bought this for my 5 year old son. He loves Transformers, so I was very excited to receive it. When it came, I was so disappointed. He couldn't work it at all. It is very hard to make it "transform." My 8 year old daughter couldn't do it very well, either. They asked me for help. I tried to move it and it broke. I put it back together and tried another place - also broke. In my opinion, this toy is junk.

"Mudflap is cute, durable, but Skidz makes for an easier transformation and more posable stance" 2009-10-23
By D.A. (Wouldn't you like to know....)
I was wondering why poor Mudflap was in stores more than his brother Skidz - got Mudflap on sale at Walmart for cheap, bless his heart...anyway, when I got the lil Autobot home, transformed him, and tossed the directions (the pictures never help, ever). Anyway, he looks like the picture, but because the twins are so top heavy (their backs), Mudflap tends to fall over when you stand him up. And because he transforms differently than Skidz, he's not as sturdy. But I want them both together, so he ended up sitting down, while Skidz is standing up lol. It's no biggie, love the Autobots, and love Mudflap too. All and all, if you're getting it for your little one, and he doesn't mind it not standing too much, it's fine. But if you're a collector, you better get him just right when he's standing, otherwhise he'll topple over!

"Definitely not for the little ones" 2010-02-07
By C. Berg (NJ)
I read many reviews but didn't listen, so we wound up returning this. There was no way my 4 1/2 year old son could transform this from car to robot or vice versa; even I had a difficult time doing it, and probably would've needed a lot of practice before I could do it without looking at the directions the whole time.

I don't want to give it too few stars, as it was well-made and looks good both as a car and as a robot.

I also got him some of the smaller Transformers which have much fewer parts to be moved, and those were great.

(Also, I returned this unopened. I had purchased another of the larger, more intricate Transformers, and that was the one we had trouble transforming, so we didn't even open this one. I'm not sure if Amazon would take back the opened one as well, but we're just hanging on to that one till he gets older.)

Robot Mode;

 "Complicated and broken" 2010-01-22
By R. Cheng (McLean, VA USA)
Bought this for a 4 year old, knowing that I would be doing most of the "transformations". I consider myself a somewhat smart guy and love playing with toys, but the actual transformation for this toy is complicated and brittle. After a couple of weeks, one of the plastic joints broke and now Sideways only has one arm. More frustrating than fun.

I bought this toy for my 5 year old son. It was fun at the beginning. But after a few times of transformation, some parts dropped off. I could put them back but then they dropped again. After about two days, those parts couldn't be put back because the connectors were wide open and couldn't hold the parts.
