"Slightly improved but could of been better" 2008-01-23
By Strider (Florida)
First of all the box Ironhide comes in is nice. It's one of those g1 classic boxes that they originally came in with the flap. But I would of atleast prefered it didn't have the flap. Since it either takes additional space or it gets bent. When you open the box on one of the box's side panels it reveals his cartoon head with chest. It's made out of cardboard. But I don't think it's durable at all. Supposely it goes where his head sticker on the seat goes. Atleast it is better than nothing. Decided to leave it there. The inserts is made of nice plastic velcro like all reissues. What really makes this toy is his red cherry Nissan vanette alt mode! The side design lines are painted this time along with his sun roof up top. His attack sled has three chrome track wheels which is the upper van halve. Which is one front wheel track ,and two back wheel tracks. There are 2 visible wheel tracks on the van side windows. With a missle launch post that folds which Ironhide stands on back of. While he's on the sled. In front of the sled you put a red cap on the hole where his gun goes. The red cap along with the chrome gun and three chrome missles are his accessories. But Ironhide can't hold any weapon that includes his gun. His fists don't have any holes. The robot is as small as a minibot and very spiney. His upper sled being the bigger mass of the two. The robot is a far cry from his animated self. His actual face is on back of the chest windshield being the not so appealing black and silverlining face sticker head that goes on the single chair there. The chair was for a diaclone driver figure to sit on it. You can't really blame the toy since it came years before the cartoon. Of course the regular sticker sheet is included along with the japanese written instructions. Atleast Hasbro and Takara could of made him an anime head sticker instead of that ugly lousy one. The red paint isn't all that good. It tends to chip on the chest and his feet. Which are made of metal diecast. The paint chipped in several places below his feet when I put his feet on the sled panels. The panels scraped off the paint there. I think I will never put him on the sled again. I rate encore g1 Ironhide, two and a half stars overall. Since it is a rare toy ,and a popular likable character with alot of screen time in the g1 show then it's a must have indeed! But be careful with his fragile paint. When handling him.

Transformers Premium Series Deluxe Class Action Figure - Decepticon Barricade

Premium Barricade appears to feature new, more intricate paint applications. If you examine the door panels of BarricadeâTMs Saleen S281 police car altmode, the ordinary trite âto protect and serveâ is replaced by the phrase âto punish and enslave.â BarricadeâTMs robot mode is vaguely apelike, the head rising through the bisected hood and the side panels serving as the arms. BarricadeâTMs head sculpt is one of the crueler and more organic-looking of the assortment. Additionally, BarricadeâTMs front grill/chest plate, ejects like a cuckoo clock to reveal the small, articulated figure of the robot Frenzy.

"More than meets the eye..." 2010-02-12
By K. Liles (San Diego, Ca)
In all honesty, I hate this thing. My kids absolutely love it, but I hate it. I've said this before about some of the other Transformers, and I'll say it again, only get this if your kid is over the age of 7 and can fanagle this thing around himself, or be prepared to switch it from robot to car about 1 million times! Not that I mind helping my kids with this stupid robot, but when you just spent 5 minutes trying to twist pieces into place so it all lines up together and then 2 minutes later they want it a different way it can get a tad frustrating...especially when there are 6 different robots and they are mid battle and "have to transform!!! It's how they do it in the movie!" Lol.

I do, however, reccommend it. They are great toys and I've recently told my boys that if they can't transform it themselves then the robots can battle the way that they are. ;)

 "Premium decepticon GREATNESS!!!" 2009-10-13
By Jones Spirius (NY USA)
This Barricade rules the streets! His super sleek police cruiser mode is so well detailed that I think he may have the best decepticon car mode out of any movie line toy. The paint apps are crisp and clear. His detailed car parts look great and he just feels solid.

Barricade's transformation is pretty easy with a minimum of pieces that will fall off during conversion. Also in robot mode you can rotate the upper-arm pieces into such a position that they look like cool shoulder armor.

His robot mode is, like the vehicle, highly detailed sporting great paint applications that make him look like old Barricade is about throw you across a parking lot and ask if YOU are ebay user name Ladiesman217! Overall this really is a great figure with some awesome movie accurate detail. Even if you already have another version of Barricade pick this one up!

I love the new realistic premium vehicle mode and the spring loaded punch can only be described as WHAM! The transformation can be tricky at times, but it's got an incredible result either way. The 'Decepticon Frenzy' that comes out of Barricade's bumper is kind of lame. To 'transform' it you fold little Frenzy into this bumpy prism thing. It's seriously lame. Get this for Barricade. Don't get it for Frenzy. He's not that great. Barricade was my fourteenth transformer and I don't regret his purchase.

My son loved this toy! With two different styles of Barricade, we soon discovered that the one style he wanted was rare in our area. Got a boy? You cannot go wrong with Transformers.

 "Good choice" 2009-01-06

This was the only Transformer my son wanted that wasn't in the store. He loves it. Even though he can't transform it himself, it's one of his favorites.

transformers premium bumble bee has a more gold metallic finish, more like the official paint job of the 20o8 camaro with gold high lighted camaro emblums and door handles. In robot mode he has a cool face mask.Nice but it could have been a bigger head.Over all nice figure easy transformable.

 "Great toy!" 2009-10-05
By K. Liles (San Diego, Ca)
I would first like to remind everyone that this is a toy. Meant for the fun and amusement of small children. Anyone expecting this to be a collector's item is going to be dissapointed. Again, this is a TOY.

That said, my kids both LOVE this transformer. I think this one has taken the worst beating of them all and it's still in perfect working order. It's not an easy thing to switch back and forth. The body on this one actually comes apart to change. If you have younger kids they probably won't be able to transform it all on thier own, so be prepared to do some serious transforming. Good Luck!

 "Great toy" 2009-02-13

Gave to a seven year old who immediately transformed it several times without even looking at the directions. He found it very cooool! Recommended as a great present for his age group.

 "Bumblebee review" 2009-01-17

Not easy to transform. Toy is not durable enough to withstand transformations back and force, the "teeth" on plastic gear got broken too easy, which make this transformation impossible.

 "Pointless!" 2008-05-29
By Justin G. Scott (Phoenix, AZ)
I finally found this premium edition at a local Walmart the other day. Definately the hardest one to locate out of the new bunch of premium edition figures that Hasbro has put out. I thought the new paint app. would be much better next to the original, boy was I mistaken. As soon as I got home I compared the premium bumblebee to the standard one I have and the difference is very minor. The supposed new gold metallic finish isn't that much greater in comparison to the original. All you get is a little darker finish ( yellow ). The black stripping has changed a little ( big deal ). Now the gas cap and the windshield wipers are painted silver ( wow ). The paint app. really isn't all that metallic to be honest. Probably due to the fact that Hasbro always seems to do crappy paint jobs on all of their figures as of late. My major gripe and advice to all other collectors out there is why didnt Hasbro just make this the standard Bumblebee from the very begining. Actually thats a dumb question, because they want more money " duh ". Not saying this Bumblebee isnt decent or anything. If you dont have one yet try to get this one instead of the regular one if you can find him. If you already have the standard edition I would recommend, if you can comparing the two and making sure that it is absolutely worth youre hard earned cash first.
