"This thing is horrid. It's worse than Darth Vader himself!" 2009-09-08
By J. Kaminski (Roswell, GA)
This toy was purchased as a Christmas gift for my son. I remember him opening it and being very excited. Christmas Day it took me an hour to get it enough together so the parts weren't "popping" out. After my struggles, my son promptly took it apart and turned it back into Darth Vader. It has never seen it's Death Star shape since that day. Well, today he pulled it out and asked me to transform back into the Death Star. This thing really sucks. I tried to follow the worthless instructions to no avail. I have been working on it for about a half hour and finally said enough was enough. My son was watching me and trying to help but it just does not fit together well. Like some of the other reviewers have stated... the tolerances are just to TIGHT! Once you get one part in it's place, another pops off. Then you go back and put the popped off piece back in place another one pops off. It's a never ending cycle. As I'm writing this, my son is singing a new song he made up... "I hate this Death Star... lalalala". I think we will play a game with it and destroy it outside later by smashing it with a sledge hammer and then setting it on fire. What a waste of $$$$.

"Worthy Companion to Primus and Unicron" 2009-03-04
By David Boughton
As mentioned in numerous other reviews, the Death Star transformation is not for the faint of heart. It requires perseverance, full engagement, and deft hand steadiness to execute. If the Primus and Unicron are rated Skill Level 4, this thing should be about a 6. It takes patience and practice to learn how to best approach it. That's why I rated it high in educational, "brain" value... The Darth Vader mode is cool - with noises and lights and trash talk, but the conformation is not comparable to Unicron or Primus. I'd put it third of the three as a robot, with Unicron the baddest, most capable. As a planet though, the Death Star is striking, and embodies the ultimate evolution of the sphericals. It even has retractable stand legs, unlike the Primus.

Sitting side-by-side, they make a nice ensemble. Of the three, I like the Primus best for play value - quick and easy and fun to transform and show off with. But this one can be fun if you are up for the challenge, or is cool as a noisy paperweight in whichever mode, if you aren't...

 "100% Awesome" 2009-01-25
By Gregory Mercurio (San Diego, CA USA)
This toy is amazing, I had no idea it even existed until I was walking through the swap meet and saw it. First reaction, is that Darth Vader? Second look, is that a TRANSFORMER??? I picked it up, took it home and after about 5 minutes it was in full Death Star mode. I didn't even have instructions or a box or the Light Saber that came with it. Now that I know this exists, I am going to buy one new in box to add to my Star Wars collection.

"Wish I had read the reviews before buying" 2008-12-26
By Average consumer (Texas)
Just got this for my son for Christmas. What a disaster. It took my husband at least 45 minutes to unbox and try transforming it into the death star. What a joke. It took him several attempts through the day to get it finally into the finished transformed position. The pieces kept unsnapping before he could move to the next step. Don't waste your money like we did. Will be trying to take it back tomorrow. Ours was also missing the cape.

 "lots of fun!" 2009-04-13
By nikola (Orlando, FL United States)
well i guess if you never played with transformers as a kid you don't understand how they work. you really have to pop them hard into place. if you don't, it WILL fall apart. and you have to push HARD to get them to make certain positions, etc. i can see how those not familiar might either be concerned if they push too hard it will break or think they have it locked in place but they really don't. it may take some tinkering to get it right if you aren't very familiar with the concept.

otherwise, for us (both my husband and i loved transformers as a kid and star wars) this was lots of fun to put together! and my son has gotten HOURS of play and enjoyment. my only complaint is that i can't readily find replacement gun parts. my son took the falcon over to a friends where there was a 2 year old- who shot it and lost the parts. :(

but even without the shooter parts, my son (who is 4.5) ADORES this thing. worth every cent!

"transformed on the idea of a millenium falcon" 2009-02-12
By Adam N Eve (Los Angeles, CA USA)
If you're a fan of star wars and transformers, then this is the toy for you. It was just the right size, not too big like it's older brother at a whopping price... this model you can display on a side table....and be proud of being a follower of the force... In any case, being a girl has it's advantages, it's definitely a conversation starter. I purchased another one for a girlfriend's husband. He loved it, guys love this sort of stuff. Ladies, it's ok to embrace your inner geek as well, still sexy at heart. For the price and the amount of detail (amazing what they can prefab in plastic these days :) if only it was made from recycled plastic; then it would get my 10 star rating instead of the maximum. Get in good with the kids or your better half, just buy it.. you'll love it...and they will love you for it as well.

My son HAD TO HAVE Star wars toys for Christmas so I bought this thinking he would love it. He has only played with it once. It is difficult to transform and he needs help. He likes the action figures much better.

 "Fallls apart" 2009-04-23
By Mirja M. (Oak Park, MI USA)
While this is fairly easy to convert from a ship to Boba Fett - the thing falls apart WAY to easily. I can't transform it without having the arms fall off and I am WAY over the recommended age for this toy. Buy for display ONLY.

 "Poorly constructed" 2009-01-07
By PETER E. (MN)
My son enjoys playing with this; however, it is poorly constructed. The arms easily fall off and must constantly be reattached, and the more times this occurs the plastic will wear so eventually the arms will not stay attached at all. The Anakin to StarFighter CrossOver is constructed better. Save your money.

 "Fell apart right away" 2008-12-14
By Puppys in AZ (Tucson, AZ)
We bought this for our 7 year old who loves Star Wars and Boba Fett. It was missing a piece when we first opened it. The first time we tried to "transform" it, it broke. We sent it back to the manufactuer, and it was months before we heard back that they weren't making it anymore so they would send us something different in it's place. Our son was very disappointed. I'm surprised to see it for sale again after all of that. I wouldn't recommend this unless you didn't ever want to play or transform it.

 "Poor Bobba" 2008-12-07
By J. S. Valdes (Santiago, Region Metropolitana Chile)
This is probably one of the worst Star Wars / Transformers crossovers. The robot mode is ugly (Bobba is pregnant in this encarnation), the legs have very restricted mobility, and the arms snap off very easily.

Besides they don't put anymore the mini figurine that they included in the previous releases.

The vehicle mode is good, though. It looks like a futuristic clothes iron, but it's pretty movie accurate. Besides the fact that it transforms into a pregnant robot.
