The Transformers Animated Optimus Prime Battle Blaster converts from an eight-wheeled truck mode into a mobile gun platform designed to resemble a silver and orange blaster cannon framed by Optimus PrimeâTMs two-fisted grasp. A well-trained natural leader, this comparatively untested version of Optimus Prime swells wistfully on the accounts of old battles until he finally received his first assignment: pitted against Megatron and the other Decepticons, Prime leads the Autobots in a venture to keep the All Spark out of the tyrannical grasp of Megatron.

"One of my son's favorite toys" 2010-02-24
By A. Michael (Anchorage, AK)
We love this toy. My son has son much fun with it, both as a car and as a gun. He's had it for three months and still hasn't gotten bored, which is unusual for him.

"Solid Simple Enjoyable toy for young kids" 2009-12-27
By Bonds (Northglenn, CO United States)
Let me describe this thing.

This is a meaty truck.

Large and heavy. I got this for my 3 yr old although box says 5+. Really perfect for a 3 yr old except for the hefty weight when held in the gun position.

My 3 yr old loves the sounds and sayings even though he isn't into Transformers. In gun mode, pressing the buttons yields 4 spoken sayings. Pressing the triggers generates a shooting sound.

In truck the button does motorized sounds.

It's easy to convert from truck to gun and back. It's one quick motion of holding the two handles on the truck. But again heavy to hold as a gun for a younger than 5 yr old. And not something a 3 yr old can quite transform yet.

Sounds are loud. But my 3 yr old imitates the spoken lines which is a hilarious.

Unit overall is durable, but there are 2 plastic flaps that came off quickly as others mentioned. WE just left them off. You don't really notice them off.

In truck mode it's pretty much unbreakable. In gun mode there's more of a chance of damaging 2 parts that stay "flapped out" if you were to drop the gun on pavement or step on it if it's on the ground, but overall solid and so far so good.

Paid $15 on Amazon.

"My son is still playing with it 1 year later" 2009-12-27
By Angel D. Rushing (Georgia)
Son got this for Christmas a year ago and is still playing with it. The only negative that I have is that the side flaps come off a lot. They snap right back into place but with they would just stay on.

 "Easy and Fun" 2009-04-30
By Meredith (glen gardner, nj United States)
My 4 year old loves Transformers, but some are made for older children and he has a hard time. This one he is able to do on his own, which is great. A little loud, but good.

"Great For Toddlers or Youngsters" 2010-01-24
By Jonathan Jett (TX Tuff)
These gravity toys are amazingly simple yet awesome for a young person who does not have the coordination, dexterity, or capability to manipulate the more difficult transformer toys. My son who is 3 has all of the gravity bots. My son loves transformers and I couldn't find one that could be morphed back and forth to meet his imaginative play needs. He was constantly bringing me the other transformers and asking me to change them for him...until now. These toys use a weight system triggered by a button nicely hidden button and automatically actuated based on position. My only caution is that if your child is fairly aggressive or destructive with their toys, these do have the potential to be broken easily if a child were to repeatedly try to force the transformation manually rather than let them do it automatically, and they don't have articulation. "Video Sharing" websites have good video reviews so you can see the bots in action. These are awesome and a good investment for the youngsters, buy one, you'll be amazed and want the collection.

 "smaller....but possibly better" 2010-01-03
By Rick (Frostburg, MD USA)
ill admit, i dont own a single gravity bot transformer...but watching video reviews on youtube, sadly, i think these are probably much more fun to transform than the bigger (configuration level 3 &4) transformers. i have starscream from first film and optimus from second, and my god! they make the rubix cube look like a piece of cake. i would rather, yes im admitting this, i would rather own all gravity bots than purchase another 3 or 4 configuration level transformer. the new transformers are NOT the old transformers...if you know what i mean.

 "Good purchase" 2010-01-01
By Kathy (Iowa USA)
This transformer is fine for age 3 and up. It almost transforms by itself. Older kids won't find it much of a challenge, but may still play with it since transformers are so admired.

"Bought these for my 4 and 5 year old..wonderful!" 2009-12-28
By Mommy of 3 (California USA)
Whoever came up with these Gravity Bots is brilliant. After buying multiple Transformers for my 4 and 5 year old boys, and them not being able to transform them, and the pieces falling apart, these Gravity Bots are magnificent. Easy to transform, they can do it themselves, and the boys love them! We got Optimus, and Starscream. These toys are great for the younger boys!

 "Transformers for young ones!" 2009-11-13
By TrendyMommy (Tennessee)
These Gravity Bots Transformers are perfect for the young kid who isn't quite ready for the complicated Transformer figures. My son is three. We purchased a few figures that said "4 and up" and "5 and up." I played with Transformers as a kid but some of these new ones are tough. Then I discovered the Gravity Bots! They transform enough that my son is still enchanted and I don't have to hear "mommy transform him to a truck, mommy transform him to a robot" every five minutes. The "automatically converts" concept is a blessing! We've purchased several for birthday parties. I highly recommend if your young one is starting to like Transformers. Older children may get bored with them though. Oh yeah, ours have been dropped several many times on hardwood and tile floors. They hold up well!

 "Not a happy customer" 2009-12-28
By Julie A. Herman
My 5 year old nephew asked for Optimus Prime for Christmas and I found it on Amazon. The "new" Hasbro Transformers Cyber Stompin' Optimus Prime Action Figureproduct arrived in a timely manner but the item was dusty-not just a little, but a lot! We had to use a dry paint brush to get into all the little cracks. It also had little paint marks on it from another toy. I was VERY displeased and would have returned it for a full refund if I didn't have to ship it to my newphew so he would get it in time for Christmas.

I will newver shop with Amazon again.

 "Very Nice" 2009-07-23
By Anarchi-Angel (San Francisco, CA USA)
My son definitely was very happy with this toy. A cool decent size toy for kids to play and add with their toys.

 "Optimus Prime" 2008-12-29
By V. Faaborg (Phoenix, AZ)
My 6-year-old grandson loves this toy. It seems to be well-built and we had no problems with its working parts.

"VERY MISLEADING, AND UNEVENTFUL TOY" 2008-12-29
By Kim Gibson (New Orleans, LA)
THE STOMPING action figure, only makes Stomping sounds when you press on 2 buttons on his feet. It is very misleading, but overall, the toy lacks any fun points. My 3 year old quickly moved on to the next toy, therefore we are returning it. It did not meet our expectations.

 "boy loved....and still loves!!!" 2008-08-03

My boy LOVES this toy!!! im in Iraq so i sent him this.....and my wife says it replaced the Bumblebee as his favorite toy! and he will not leave home without it! and because Optimus has these push button voice thingys....he wants Megatron now too. Optimus says something bout fighting Megatron. My boy is about 5 years old and loves this toy!

"Not educational but a world of fun" 2010-02-23
By Kristina M. Zavitz
I bought this for Father and Daughter, and it has been great fun for everyone. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

 "Disappointing RC toy" 2010-01-21
By katie smith-johnson (hot springs, ar United States)
I am very disappointed in this Transformer toy. I ordered it for my 4 year-old son and he was ecstatic to receive it for Christmas. However, he ripped through the box on Christmas morning only to discover that it does not work properly. You can play with it for a couple of minutes, then the remote stops working. The truck still makes the noises, but it does not move. Usually, you just need to turn it off and on again for it to begin responding to the remote...but not always. Sometimes you need to wait a bit before restarting. It's extremely frustrating for a young child and he has not played with it much since Christmas day.

I would definitely not recommend this toy to anyone.

 "Fun remote control" 2009-12-30
By Jennifer Reeve (South Jersey)
This is one of my 4 year olds favorite Christmas presents. He has practically ran this toy nonstop for days and he even sleeps with it next to his bed. Makes realistic sounds and is easy for young kids to use.

 "Very Durable" 2009-12-30
By Wheeze (El Paso, TX)
I bought this for my six year old nephew for Christmas. He is a wild child who usually has a toy torn apart within a couple of hours. Poor Optimus Prime was submitted to ramping into walls, smashing into walls and even got stepped on a few times. However the toy came thru without a scratch and kept going. I was amazed at how durable it was for the price I paid. Well worth every dime, and the kid loved it!

"Optimus RC? Enough said! Wow!" 2009-12-02

I've been waiting for a good RC OP for a long time. This is really cool! Works very well. My son freaked almost as much as I did (yikes)!

"Husband and daughter fight over it!" 2010-02-25
By A. brumm (St. Marys, GA)
I don't know who likes it more, my daughter who runs around the house pretending to be a transformer, or my husband who gets endless entertainment from saying absurd things with it. Both of them entertain me with it.

Whether it's my daughter saying "Autobots, Transform!" or my husband using cliche pick-up lines with it, it's always got us giggling. My husband even bought this for one of the other submarine officers who had a hard time with the crew taking him seriously because of his timid voice. See, it even has military applications. :)

I love this toy. We have had it for a year now and it's still intact, even with all the abuse it takes.

 "Good gift" 2010-02-05

Great toy...gave it to an adult who is a "Transformer" fan, and he loved it!!

 "crappy" 2010-02-01
By Lorena Ortiz (el paso, TX, US)
this toy took 3 adults and 2 hours to transform. instructions are horrible. pieces easily popped out of place and when in truck transformation, parts don't stay together nor do they completely close.

 "bad quality." 2009-12-30
By S. Ourun (Chi-town)
I bought the same exact toy from marshalls' (home good) store, got it for 14.99 and i have to say that i didnt like how the toy transforms, my 3yrs old son is crazy fan for transformers so i hoped this will atleast last for a week, it only last for a day and everything started to fall apart. im not sure if its supposed to be like, easily falling aparts. but yeah, you can find this at marshalls' goods for a great price compare here.

"A good facsimile and more durable than expected" 2009-10-26
By A. Freedman (Bethesda, MD USA)
I bought this for my five year old son. I was concerned that it was too complicated and too fragile but he had his little heart set on getting Optimus Prime and the only other model costs twice as much. Well both concerns turned out unfounded. After a little bit of initial help, Jack was soon converting it from robot to truck and back without any help - it really wasn't that complicated but kudos on the overall sophistication of the toy for the price. In terms of durability, well parts do tend to fall off - particularly the smoke stacks, the feet and these red flaps on the arms. But fortunately they snap right back on and seem none the worse. It seems that the toy was designed to give on pre set snap joints rather than breaking - kudos again for the design folks. I don't want to overstate the quality - I am sure it will break in time, almost all toys do, but it survived the first week with a whole lot of play and my son is very happy spending a lot of time with opimus prime.

 "Great Service" 2009-09-29

We got the toy in mich sooner then we thought. My son was and still is very happy with it.

Thank You

"Must have patience of a saint" 2010-02-08
By C. Hoyt (Glen Burnie, MD)
I spent 4 hours on Christmas morning assembling this thing for my kid. I'm 31 and grew up with transformers. I also worked on jets for the Air Force so I consider myself mechanically competent. This thing is in a whole new realm of complication. I searched YouTube for advice because the written instructions were hopeless. Finally a teenage kid's video post helped me assemble it. Even then it was incredibly challenging. 4 hours and I finally assembled it! But it didn't roll. Its a GD truck and it doesn't roll. The hood stayed together for about 2 minutes before it popped apart. So now its a Transformer that doesn't transform. Since it couldn't roll like a truck, I had to transform it back.

Bottom line: They bit off more than they could chew. Bravo to the engineers but boo to the testers.

"Not Really a Good Gift for Little Kids" 2010-02-08
By Bao Hoang (Plano, TX)
While this toy is very detailed and good for older kids (like toy collectors), it's way too complicated to transform for probably any kid under 10 years old. Even with the pictured instruction sheet, I had to search for and watch a You Tube video on how to transform it from the robot to a truck (comes in robot form out of the box). My 4-year old only played with it only once or twice while he was watching the movie on DVD.

"Transformer toy didn't last long" 2010-02-06
By D. Brow (Co)
My son loved this transformer. But one of the pieces broke off and now it is in the box. It would be nice if packaging came with information for replacement parts.

 "NOT for age 5+" 2010-02-02
By
This toy is so difficult for a 5 year old to put together. It took my husband over 20 minutes! My son lost intrest and hasn't touched this toy since he opened it on Christmas. I'm sure a 9 or 10 year old would like it. This toy should not be marked for ages 5+. It doesn't hold their interest. I think the toy manufaturer just wants a larger target consumer market. Disappointing.
