 "transformer race track" 2010-02-15
By hunter and celeste's mom (wisconsin)
My son loves it but you have to cut the box up to use bumble bee and optimus on it so where do you put it not in the box dumb idea from hasbro my son enjoys it but the bottom part does come undone alot that should have been designed better. But he still really likes it bought some cars to go with it.

 "Just OK" 2010-02-12
By Sandy (Wisconsin)
My son was very excited to receive this, and we were very happy with the price. It went together fairly well, but the pieces that stick up are cardboard. They fit around curved pieces of track but are a little too rigid to be placed easily, but they come off easy. It's a bit flimsy and he played with it for a couple days and hasn't much cared for it since.

 "Not so great" 2010-01-18

My boys payed with this for a short time and became bored with it. Part of the setup is cutting out characters from the outside of the box...not very impressed.

 "Not the best quaility" 2010-01-18
By Mom in Missouri
I bought this before Christmas for 9.99 from Amazon and I'm glad I didn't pay a penny more for it. My boys loved it for the first day or two and now it's just collecting dust. The cardboard Bumblebee and Optimus figures you see on the track in the photo have to be cut out of the box. I would expect for a toy with this price point that I would not have to cut cardboard figures out of the the box and try to fit on the toy. The track itself was easy enough to put together, but doesn't stay together with much movement or play.

 "Great Gift" 2010-01-17
By Cheyenne C. Gilbert
We bought this as a Christmas gift from Santa for my 4 year old. He is able to work the launcher by himself and enjoys playing with this toy. He has since become a little bored with it and had I paid full price I would have been a little disappointed. But we got it as a Lightning Deal for $9.99, so it's been worth it.

Transformers Movie Deluxe Barricade features spring-loaded punch-attack action and a deception frenzy figure that ejects from its chest in robot mode. This is one awesome figure for your collection. The greatest thrill in his life knows people trust him because of the human decorations on his door panels. The look of betrayal they get when they realize what theyre dealing with is as sweet as candy. The only thing he likes better is chasing down auto bots and breaking them into pieces with his powerful arms and crushing, hydraulic hands.

"Transformers are a must have!" 2009-09-07
By Tiffany D. White (Kansas, USA)
My son was 8 years old when we purchased this a year ago. He is now 9yo and still plays with this toy. Makes a very fun and unique way to work on mechanical abilities and problem solving skills. Some of the movements needed are a little too hard for even me to perform, but in general a child can do it on their own, and they learn to read the directions to do it! Kids love these, they are still a big hit!

 "A Charming Decepticon" 2009-08-14
By Erik Martinez
I actually had this figure since the first movie. I didn't play with him that much for some reason, probably just wasn't feeling the Decepticon vibe. I fished him out with the advent of ROTF, was mistified with how much charm this "bad" guy had. I must say the vehicle mode looks great. Lots of detail, the plastic looks to be a very good quality. The sirens are modeled with the clear red and blue plastic that adds a nice touch. Turning him into the car can be a bit annoying, since all the panels have to fit in exactly in place. His robot looks as nice as the vehicle. He has all kinds of little panels and spikes that you might not notice(took me two years, heh) at first, but add the how you can transform him. I proudly display him next my other favorites like ROTF Prime and Megatron. Very durable, very playable and very poseable. His punching had can get a bit annoying, but it's managable. Having the Frenzy figure is nice as well.

By Casimus Prime
I got this guy awhile ago and I loved his character. I like him for his car mode. I told myself if I could get that car, I would make a few changes. I don't like that fist-punch action. His best mode toy-wise is robot mode. The instructions say to take Frenzy out first. But if you keep him in there, nothing will happen. I recomend it for car mode, that car is the best.

"Barricade is just plain wicked!" 2009-04-11
By Bryan J. Kautzman (Fargo, ND)
Barricade was the second transformer from the movie I purchased, and I have to say that he is just plain wicked. Transforming him into robot mode usually goes really smooth, but going back into vechicle mode can be a challenge. I have not found any parts that break off easily, either, which is definitely a plus. I also love the miniature Frenzy figure. The only really big drawback is his special weapon. His left fist is spring loaded, and I find it wants to eject a lot when I don't want it to. Otherwise, I would say that this is one of the better Transformers in the Movie colection. Watch out for price gouging, though. I purchased Barricade at Target for about $10.

 "Such a disappointment!" 2008-12-04
By L. Schramm (Oregon, USA)
Ok, I really wanted to like this toy. I loved transformers growing up, I watched the cartoons and read the comics and I enjoyed the movie. I really really wanted to like this toy. But it truly sucks on too many levels. I bought it for my 6 1/2 year old who saw the movie and fell in love with the idea and he asked Santa for Barricade with Frenzy. I'm at a point now where Santa may actually return this toy. The transformation from car to robot is fairly easy, but the robot form isn't very stable, his torso doesn't lock, so he bends over a lot and his head doesn't really move. Plus he has this incredibly lame "action" punch arm which is not only stupid and uninteresting but tends to go off at the slightest touch when you don't want it to, like say when you are transforming it back to car!!! It's all plastic, which I suppose should be expected, Frenzy is also lame, you can't really do anything with him, he just folds up or stands there. It seems to be fairly resilient, as I just spent about twenty minutes trying to transform it back to a car. Transforming back into a car is pretty difficult, all you have to do is transform it in the reverse order but the joints don't want to bend very easy, you end up feeling like you are forcing the thing back together and the stupid arm punching thing keeps getting activated while you are trying to transform it back! I'm very disappointed and I think for the ridiculous amount of money the transformers are going for, there should be some actual quality there. I doubt this is very fun to play with since half of the fun of a transformer is being able to transform it from car to robot and back again, hence the name transformers, right??? I also don't see this as a great display option unless you always keep it in car mode and never ever transform it, not even once, to robot mode, because once you do, the car mode never looks quite as perfect. Terrible, I do not recommend this toy especially not at the $$ they are expecting people to pay!

"great set if you like combiners" 2010-02-17
By dragonspawn (ny)
this review is in 2 parts for starters i got this set at traget for 19.99 great price yeah i will admit when i first enrgon episodes with combiners & then the toys get released to look like this i say to myself i will never buy energon combiners there flimsy, they have no hands or feet g1 combiners look beter than this but after i got energon superion for christmas what the heck get the 2 energon combiners as well as combiner fan i did even though despite the flaws of not being srudy in combined mode, not having realistic hands or feet i say energon combiners are great.

part 2

my only 2 complaints about this figure are hands/feet and when its time to combine its littel diffucult to combine the pegs you need to apply pressure on the limbs to from hands & feet to make in combined mode if the new combiner transformers and the abilty to combiner easy as show with armada figures, or g1 then these enrgon combiners wouldnt be soemwhat hard to do most of the time

"Best combiner I've come across!" 2009-09-10
By John B. Connor (Coventry, RI United States)
This Superion is teh best combiner I have come across - much better than the original G1 version. There are no extra parts needed for the conversion. Instead, everything is right there as part of the individuals. The few accessories (the feet and hands) are usable in individual robot and jet modes as well.

There is also an appendage set you can get for this one (with more realistic looking arms, armor, and a rifle - all of which go with Superion and the individual jets). It is a bit pricey, but I found it well worth the money as it makes a great Transformer even better.

 "Inferior Superion" 2009-08-13
By I. Jardine (Herndon, VA United States)
This toy is a far cry from the original Superion from my childhood. As great as the recent Transformers have been, this toy is sadly inferior in every aspect. Entirely plastic and the parts constantly fall off when Superion is assembled. The Aerialbots aren't even reasonably cool before the combining of them. He can't even stand up without his legs split apart. Very disappointed, I did something I have never done before with a Transformer in 30 years of collecting: threw it into the trash. At worst I've given Transformers away if I didn't like them, but there's no way I'd give this piece of junk to an unsuspecting kid or friend.

"Fun for Kids (and Us!!!)" 2009-07-06
By M. R. Sweeny (Fl, USA (born in NoCal))
As you're casually passing by the toy aisle of the discount chain/toy store that you happen to frequent (in this case, Target), this humble looking figure happens to catch your eye on numerous occasions. You think, as you decide to pass it off as one of the clumsier molds in the TF ROTF line, what good would this figure be in little johnny's toybox (or rather, YOUR collection). Here's where the presumption ends.

After picking this sucker up, I found myself to be truly surprised by what Superion had to offer. He's now working his way into being what I regard as one of the neater entries into my cadre of TFs. Parents should note that this toy is among the best buys you could make, and hopefully an item that he'll (OR she'll) enjoy for a good amount of time. You get a bunch of scout figures and one deluxe that all form into one of the better-conceived combiner figures (this mold dates originally from the TRANSFORMERS: ENERGON line--- note the "crystals" that attach to each figures' torso) out there. Each part of Superion transforms into its own little robot. Each figure (and the sum thereof) amounts to a transformers smorgasborg of fun that goes on down the road. For the collectors, a fan-project modification for the hands has been made (check ebay for that little item) to further enhance the appearance of the aforementioned hands. Recommended.)

All in all, Superion may not be the hottest, coolest, or most intricate of the TF:ROTF line, but he sure delivers in the fun department.

 "My Nephew Loved them!" 2010-02-14
By D. Thomason (Texas)
My 3 year old nephew LOVES transformers....but a lot of the actual "transforma-able" figures out there are still a little difficult for him. He also loves his Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars and would often pretend he was transforming them in to robots. So this was like the best of both worlds! He had cars that looked like the cars from Transformers and the the picture of their robot personas on the the bottom of the car. Easy for him and less stress on the adults to have to constantly transform cars/robots!

 "Flimsy Junk" 2009-12-28
By pinkgecko1 (UT USA)
When I saw transformers on the shelf again, I was pretty excited to buy some for my boy. So we bought it, wrapped it up, and then took it out of the package at Christmas, and tried to "transform" it. Bad idea. While turning it into robot form, six pieces came off. This was an adult doing the transformation, not a child. The product is very cheaply made with flimsy plastic and ball-and-socket joints that pop out whenever you move a piece - even in the direction designed. Unfortunately I unwrapped all the Transformers before actually trying to play with one, so none are returnable. My only option now is to superglue each transformer in place and let my boy have a few plastic motorcycles, planes, and cars until the plastic breaks.

No value whatsoever in this product - it doesn't even last through the first time you use it. Avoid buying it, return it, trash it, or regift to some kid you'll never see again - but don't bother trying to play with it.

Arcee is so awesome! Pros, dual snap pistols, it's Arcee!, sidecar, it is very good. Cons, nothing, except like almost all of my other transformers, it takes 1 day for it's joints cool down. Overall, I really recommend it to all Transformers fans.

 "It's Awsome!" 2009-12-30

My 8yr. old son got this toy for Christmas and has really enjoyed it. (He told me what to title this review!) It took a few trys for him to learn how to transform them, but since mastering it, he has had a lot of fun with it. This is not his first transformer, so he had some experience with them. The latch for the hood on Skids broke so when in vehicle mode you can see his face peeking out from under the hood. Other than that, it has held up to lots of transformations. The fact that they hook together to form the truck is a fun bonus.

"BATTLE PACK IS GREAT FOR COMPLEMENTARITY" 2010-01-06
By Alexander Scott (Birmingham, AL)
I am a G1 fan and haven't seen either of the live-action films, but I do like the new transformers in the movie toylines. My son, who is 5yo, and I can play with toys together, which is fairly rewarding. My son bought this "Super Tuner" boxed set with his birthday money. These characters are from the new live-action movie toyline, REVENGE OF THE FALLEN.

Blowpipe and Sideways are surprisingly complementary, which makes this box set so great. Both toys are deluxe class, so they are a decent size and quality. I've reviewed Sideways separately (as he is avaliable separately), but I'll say here that it is a difficult but rewarding toy to work with. His transform is challenging to complete but the car looks beautiful when finished. However, I'd say that it is too complex for younger kids.

Blowpipe is really complementary to Sideways in terms of complexity. The robot mode is blue and sliver, with an oversized shield/grasping claw. He looks a little spindly for an autobot, but that's okay. His alt-mode is a truck, and the shield forms the truck bed cover. Where Blowpipe really shines is the toy's versatility as a truck. First, the tailgate comes down and the grasping claw can extend out of the truck bed. The cab roof can flip up to reveal the head while the rest of the body remains a truck. Also, the grill opens to allow the arms to come out (again, while the rest remains a truck). This really fascinates my son, who can give Blowpipe alt-alt modes and explore other ways to transform it. In contrast to Sideways, Blowpipe looks pretty good no matter how skilled you are at the transformation.

In summary, I think Blowpipe is a great toy for kids and Sideways is a great figure for older kids and adults. The complentarity of the toys in this pack is really nice, and maybe the ideal use would be for father and son to buy it together and each have one figure.
