"Mix it up with The Master!" 2010-01-10

Mixmaster is just one of those movie figures that really shows how far transformer toys have come since the fold in half and pull out the legs days of Gen 1. His vehicle mode is just amazing! It features a working cement funnel and some awesome detailing on the rest of the truck including those rockin' purple tinted windows. (Now that takes me back.)

In robot mode he looks so fragile but, he really is quite the durable little guy for all the moving parts that hasbro put into him. This mode really is cool with that back pack missile launcher and crazy scorpion like arms with the pincers and bulky armor plates.

Overall I'll say that Mixmaster is definitely one constructicon that you do not want to miss!

"not for kids of any age" 2009-11-15

Bought this for my 6 yr old son, my 11 yr old(who owns approx 15 transformers) could not transform back to the truck, and neither could I. If hasbro is going to make these things so intricate to transform , then they need to have a more detailed instruction sheet and images for transforming into all modes. NO SIMPLY REVERSING THE ORDER AT THE LAST STEP!!!! I WOUND UP THROWING IT ACROSS THE ROOM AND BREAKING IT. ITS GOING BACK TO THE STORE FOR DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE!!!!!

"So far, one of the best movie constructicons released" 2009-07-16
By Rolando F. Mocan Quan (MIAMI, FL USA)
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Voyager Mixmaster is a mix of sorts:

It's a GREAT toy... but it's not big!

PROs:

-Alt (truck) mode is very solid and has a lot of detail like clear plastic headlights and windows, separately molded window mirrors (not even big Leader Optimus has his mirrors made as separate pieces from the doors), lots of molded-in detail and the already mentioned moveable pouring scoop. Proportions are very good also.

-Paint application is scarce but really there was not much to paint in the first place. It's limited to the silver on the wheels, decepticon insignia on the hood and the mixing drum, plus the big purple decepticon insignia on the drum. Also the red-white stripes on the sides are a nice touch.

-Robot mode is very accurate to the concept art (I've posted a comparison picture), but even better is the wide range of articulation that this toy has. Each arm alone has about 7 points of articulation!

The cannon can be placed either on its back or on top of its head to recreate the final battle scenes (or at least his final battle scene).

CONs:

- This toy is from a Voyager line, and therefore supposed to be bigger, like Ratchet or Ironhide. But it's small...

- Some joints are a little bit loose. The toy won't fall apart, but will need some support to hold some poses (in my pictures, the arms are being supported by its knees!). The panels on its feet are designed to fall apart instead of break, and will do so very frequently.

- "Kibble" is present in the form of the whole cab forming the robot's buttocks.

- I didn't even bother with the "third mode". It doesn't appear in the movie and looks silly.

- This is my fourth transformer toy (and the third one from the movies) that has been assembled wrong IN THE FACTORY. Usually the problem is hard to see, like a little piece or joint put backwards.

- The instruction sheet has the arrows poiting the wrong way in one step of the arms transformation. You can find some videos on the web that will help much more.

So, between the three currently released constructicons - Voyager Demolishor (who's got Scavenger's colors, by the way), Deluxe Rampage and Voyager Mixmaster, this one is THE BEST and the one I would recommend.

(Note that at this time, Long Haul is still a future release and there's no word about Scrapper)

Demolishor and Rampage are very hard to pose. The first one has one big wheel instead of feet and the second is a monopod. Mixmaster then gets two feet up! (Just because he's got no thumbs)

 "Contructicons....unite!!" 2009-07-11

I have been, and always will be a fan of G1 contructicons. Mixmaster being one of the better looking ones in my opinion. This ROTF version of Mixmaster is pretty cool. It Mixing Truck mode, it is a durable, fun, and awesome looking toy. The detail isn't bad. I wasn't expecting to be able to pose and direct things such as the cement pouring scoops. Transforming him, - whether it be into or from robot mode - , can be very frustrating. It's not too difficult, just annoyingly confusing the first few tries at it. For some reason, as many other characters that originally were not ; Mixmaster is a triple changer. Robot, vehicle, and battle modes. Battle mode seems kind of hoaky. Uselessly familiar to some battle droid or something. Vehicle mode is the best overall. Mixmaster is surprisingly durable for how fragile he looks, especially in robot mode. His color scene works well, but has some short comings. Such as the head. Somne G1 has leaked into him; purple tinted windows. I wonder how good he might look with the G1 green as well.
